SGF riders Claire and Amanda finished 2nd in Junior and Senior Entry, respectively. Great job, girls! Their hard work certainly shows and they put in excellent rides, despite some nasty weather.
Amanda & Rio had their best stadium round yet, with a soft and controlled canter throughout. Amanda has been focusing on an accurate and controlled approach, without letting the powerful canter die out. They proved they’ve done their homework by jumping double clear in SJ & XC, to move up from 4th to 2nd in a large division!
Claire & Callee led the Junior Entry field after dressage and held their place with a well executed SJ round. Unfortunately, by the time XC came around, Callee was a little out of sorts from the nasty weather. This was a good learning experience for Claire and, as usual, Claire put her skills to work and quickly sorted things out to finish the course with a great ride! Claire & Callee finished 2nd in a division with many Eliminations!
One thing that I have to comment on is our team’s attitude throughout the day. It’s so nice to have a friendly, outgoing group of riders that support each other through thick and thin. Parents, siblings, previous owners, friends, and boyfriends were out today to support Amanda and Claire. There was certainly no lack of cheering section and everyone’s attitudes were wonderful, despite Mother Nature’s mood. Thank you to all supporters and to SGF riders, who are ever encouraging and genuine to each other! Also, thank you to Warwick for a fabulous first horse trial – the courses were well built and the show was run well.
